“Russet” Our original stud male who has since sadly passed away
We're situated on a lovely 50 acre property in the Perth foothills, in a peaceful setting only 20 minutes from the Perth International Airport. Our original interest in alpacas started at the Perth Royal Show in 1995. We were immediately taken by these wonderful animals. After many trips to the eastern states and Peru we are still as enthusiastic as ever to continue, with the help of superior genetics, to breed the ultimate suri herd. Attending the school run by Julio Sumar, a world renowned camelid judge, helped provide the basis for our breeding practices today. Lorraine has been back to Peru on a number of occasions to inspect and purchase stock. After years of research we're toying with the idea of Accoyo with an allianz cross in our quest and along with E. T. we may indeed find our ideal suri.
Lorraine being taught E.T. with Paul and Sally in Montana
Today we are successfully running an Embryo Transfer programme in our attempt to our goal of breeding the best suris possible. This process started with Lorraine and our daughter Natasha travelling to Paul and Sally Taylor’s property in Montana to learn the E. T. They actually taught us much more than just the Flushing and injecting of embryos but the full camelid reproductive system. In May 1907 we also arranged for Paul and Sally along with Dr Alejandra von Baer from Chile to travel to Western Australia for a refresher course with us and to teach other Western Australian breeders their technique. They also touched on the frozen Embryo trials which although having significant success is still ongoing. Natasha has since gone back to Montana to do ongoing research into the freezing of the embryos. She also has one of the few Dracula pipettes essential for the freezing. This concept we feel is very important to the continual expansion of the alpaca industry and another very important tool enabling breeders to access genetics from the Peruvians without depleting their rootstock and most importantly their livelihood.
At the present we feel we set the standard for suris in the Western Australian alpaca region.
In 2008 we won every Supreme suri and Supreme suri fleece award available to win in Western Australia. Although we feel it's not all about winning ribbons it must give some indication as to your standard of quality.

Our latest Poitou Jenny arrival
Along with the alpacas we also have dogs, a Clydesdale mare, pet Kangaroo and some lovely rare Poitou donkeys which are the only ones in Australia. The Poitou jenny we have is a world first E. T. donkey carried by a horse. This was a world first technology which will be used to save rare breeds in years to come. This all keeps us very busy while being interesting at the same time.
